1. Understanding the Audience & Purpose

The primary goal of the public meeting banners was to communicate complex Highway 413 project information to a broad public audience, including residents, stakeholders, and government representatives. I collaborated with the project team to understand key messages, technical content, and public concerns to ensure the banners supported meaningful engagement.

2. Content Simplification & Selection

I reviewed technical reports, timelines, maps, and environmental studies to identify the most relevant information for in-person meetings. Dense technical content was distilled into clear summaries, visual diagrams, and concise messaging suitable for quick viewing in a public space.

3. Layout & Information Hierarchy

I designed large-format layouts with strong visual hierarchy, allowing viewers to quickly grasp key points from a distance. Content was organized into clear sections using headings, icons, and consistent spacing to guide users logically through project updates, impacts, and next steps.

4. Visual Design & Branding

The banners followed Ministry of Transportation (MTO) branding and accessibility standards, using approved colours, typography, and visual treatments. I balanced text, maps, and graphics to ensure clarity, readability, and a professional public-sector tone.

5. Iteration & Stakeholder Review

I refined the designs through multiple rounds of stakeholder feedback, focusing on accuracy, clarity, and accessibility. Adjustments were made to improve legibility, visual balance, and consistency across the full banner set.

6. Final Production & Installation Readiness

The final banners were prepared for large-format print, ensuring proper resolution, contrast, and accessibility. The completed designs effectively supported public meetings by presenting complex project information in a clear, engaging, and easy-to-understand format.

Interior Signage

I designed interior showroom signage, including directional wayfinding and “Private Event in Progress” signs, to guide visitors clearly and efficiently during public meetings. The signage followed MTO branding and accessibility standards, using high-contrast typography, clear icons, and simple layouts to improve navigation, reduce confusion, and support a professional, well-organized event experience.

Project Feedback

Recognized by the project manager for delivering strong visual design support for a complex Highway 413 public consultation event, contributing to clear communication and a successful public engagement experience.
